I had some interesting talks with retro computing fans. And most can play the keyboard better than I do :-)

The Gamescom faire is very big, five entertainment area halls and two business area halls. There was an interesting project called Virtualizer (see Kickstarter). You have a head mounted display like Occulus rift, but you can walk on a flat base-plate, too:
I didn't try it myself, the queue was too long.

The WoW gaming area was not to full, but this was on Wednesday, for business visitors, only:
The tickets for the other days are sold out, I guess will be much more crowded.
